The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) released a video titled “From Nakhchivan to Today: Our Journey of Unity, Solidarity and Cooperation” ahead of the 13th summit, which will be held in Ankara. The organization announced the video with the message, “We are stronger together.”
Following a Cabinet Meeting, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that they would host the organization’s 13th summit in Ankara on Friday, October 30, describing the organization as their “family council.”
The organization’s foundations date back to the Turkic Council, established under the Nakhchivan Agreement signed in 2009. The Turkic Council adopted the name Organization of Turkic States at a summit held in Istanbul in 2021. Its members are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan, while Hungary, Turkmenistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus hold observer status.
