Türkiye’s General Directorate of Highways (KGM) no longer allows users to look up Turkish (TR) plated vehicles by plate number on its toll violation inquiry page. The page now states that crossings, toll violations and debts for motorways, bridges and tunnels for TR-plated vehicles are handled through the e-Devlet government portal.
There are two e-Devlet services for individuals. The “plate-based” service lists the vehicles a person currently owns, while the “ID number-based” (TCKN) service lists all vehicles they have owned in the past and now. Companies have a separate section for legal entities.

With the change, checking and paying are tied to the vehicle owner’s own e-Devlet account. People who drive a car owned by someone else can no longer look up its toll violation debt themselves by entering the plate; the debt is viewed and paid from the owner’s account.
The KGM page remains open for checking foreign-plated vehicles. Official vehicles owned by public institutions can also be checked using the plate, the registration certificate serial number and the institution’s tax ID number.
KGM reminds drivers that HGS accounts are the main payment channel for its toll collection system. To avoid penalties, an HGS account must be opened for the vehicle’s plate within 15 days of the crossing, or the existing account must have enough balance. Crossings from the last 15 days may not yet appear on the inquiry screens.
KGM also warns against text messages that use a lawyer’s name to claim an unpaid HGS debt, threaten enforcement proceedings and send a payment link. According to the directorate, toll violation fees and fines are paid only on kgm.gov.tr, turkiye.gov.tr and the websites of private motorway operators. For questions, drivers can call ALO 123 or +90 850 460 60 60.
