The Iranian military and Revolutionary Guards announced they targeted American bases stationed in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait in retaliation for US attacks.
According to a statement cited by Iranian state television, the Iranian military struck US bases and the Fifth Fleet's radar systems in Bahrain using numerous unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force reported that solid-fuel missiles hit four key targets at the Al-Arzak base in Jordan, including hangars housing F-35 fighter jets and US military command and control centers.
The same broadcast also reported that the US base in Kuwait's Al-Jahra region was targeted.
US Nighttime Attack
The US launched strikes on targets inside Iran during nighttime hours after holding Iran responsible for the downing of an Apache helicopter.
The US Central Command announced that US air and naval forces used precision munitions to strike Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and radar sites near the Strait of Hormuz.
The command stated this operation was a response to attacks on international commercial vessels in the region and recent assaults on US forces.
The statement emphasized that the US military is prepared to defend against Iran's "aggression."
Clashes Continue After Ceasefire
This latest development stands out as the newest exchange of attacks between Iran and the US following a ceasefire brokered by Pakistan.
In recent weeks, both sides have accused each other of violating the ceasefire through numerous attacks.
The renewed tensions in the region have once again brought security risks along the Gulf corridor to the forefront of the agenda.
