Negotiations between Iran and Oman on the Strait of Hormuz have entered a new phase despite US obstruction. A senior Iranian official speaking to the English-language state television Press TV said, "Despite US obstruction, negotiations between Iran and Oman on the Hormuz Corridor have entered a new phase."
The official stated, "Tehran is actively fulfilling its obligations under the memorandum of understanding in coordination with Oman and regional countries. If the US stops its interference, Iran and Oman can reach a consensus on the Strait of Hormuz."
The Iranian official emphasized that continuing consultations with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz is "a demonstration of Tehran's commitment to diplomacy and determination to protect its rights."
Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had said that negotiations with Iran are ongoing and that an agreement on opening the Strait of Hormuz could be reached "today or tomorrow."
