Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır spoke at Bursa Technical University’s 2026–2027 Academic Year Opening and Honorary Doctorate Conferment Ceremony. Referring also to space efforts, Kacır said plans called for the lunar vehicle, whose production had been completed with a localization rate of more than 80 percent, to be sent to the Moon in the first months of 2027. Kacır said Türkiye aimed to launch its satellites with its own rockets from its own spaceport and announced that work had begun to establish a spaceport in Somalia.

Kacır also announced that preparations for Türkiye to develop its own nuclear reactor had been completed and that the project phase had begun. The minister added that the goal was to provide 5 million people with artificial intelligence literacy within two years.
