Speaking at Eksim Holding’s 40th anniversary program, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır said Türkiye is moving confidently toward the future through political and economic stability. Kacır said they would continue to stand by entrepreneurs who believe in the country’s future, invest, produce and create value.
Kacır said Eksim Holding had continued the journey it began in foreign trade in 1986 through investments in different sectors, and congratulated the company on its 40th anniversary. He said the holding’s story also reflected Türkiye’s opening up to global markets, industrialization and technological transformation.
Kacır said Eksim Holding would continue contributing to the country’s development, the welfare of society and social solidarity by preserving the legacy it inherited from its founders. He described the holding’s tradition of placing its earnings at the service of the nation and passing this understanding from one generation to the next as one of its important characteristics.
Entrepreneurs are key stakeholders in development
Kacır said a country’s development story is written through the collective efforts of people who produce, invest and believe in the future, adding that entrepreneurs are among the most important stakeholders in genuine prosperity. In Kacır’s view, entrepreneurs assume economic responsibility by using potential, expertise, resources and natural resources in line with society’s needs.
Kacır said entrepreneurs who lead new investments, create jobs and deliver their products and services to different parts of the world play an important role in Türkiye’s development journey. He added that every step taken by industrialists contributes to production capacity, professional expertise, employment and the national economy.
Kacır said they regarded clearing the way for investment and production, supporting entrepreneurs’ development-focused efforts and strengthening industry’s competitiveness as among their main priorities.
Focus on value-added production and high technology
Kacır said comprehensive steps had been taken over the past 23 years to develop Türkiye’s production infrastructure, expand investment opportunities, support industrial growth and increase exports, adding that organized industrial zones had been expanded.
Kacır said incentive mechanisms provided entrepreneurs with predictability, cost advantages and competitive advantages, making it easier for investment decisions to become concrete projects. He said efforts were being pursued to make Türkiye a destination for high-quality investments.
Kacır said the goals of the Century of Türkiye could be achieved through value-added production and high technology. He added that incentive mechanisms had been introduced to increase research, development and innovation capacity. He said technoparks and research, development and design centers helped companies develop new technologies and turn innovative ideas into value-added products.
National income and export figures
Kacır said Türkiye had reached a different position than it occupied in the early 2000s in terms of production capacity, technological capabilities and access to global markets. He added that a development model focused on investment, employment, production and exports was being maintained.
Kacır said national income had risen from $238 billion to $1.6 trillion during this period, and that Türkiye had become one of Europe’s and the world’s leading production centers in many sectors. He said annual goods exports had increased from $36 billion in 2002 to $283 billion through trade networks extending from Europe to Africa and from the Middle East to Asia.
Kacır said Türkiye was among the leading exporting countries in terms of product and market diversity across a broad region stretching from China to Central Europe. He added that they would continue advancing in value-added production and technology development together with industrialists, entrepreneurs and engineers.
Support message for new investments
Kacır said the future of industry was being shaped through long-term plans and comprehensive road maps. He added that steps were being taken to pave the way for new investments, increase production capacity and spread industry across the country.
At the end of his speech, Kacır said: "Our path is clear, our future is bright and our direction is illuminated. We know that our esteemed entrepreneurs are with us on this journey. We are pleased that the sense of responsibility toward our country and the values embraced by the late Abdullah and Fahreddin Tivnikli continue to be strongly upheld."
Kacır said they would stand by everyone who believed in the country’s future, invested, produced and created value. He added that they would continue mobilizing every available means for entrepreneurs and creating space for them.
