Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek assessed the August inflation data on his NSosyal account.
Şimşek said the decline in inflation continued despite seasonal increases in education prices and fuel prices affected by the war. He said annual inflation stood at 31.5%.
Core goods and rent inflation decline
Şimşek said annual core goods inflation fell to 15.9%, its lowest level since November 2020. He also said annual rent inflation declined to its lowest level in the past 46 months.
Şimşek said efforts to limit the impact of global price shocks on inflation were continuing and stated that structural policies would continue in line with the goal of lasting price stability.
