One Dead, One Suspect Detained in Armed Fight Between Relatives in Diyarbakır

Yesterday at around 16:30 in Diyarbakır’s Peyas Neighborhood on 470th Street, a dispute between two related families with a longstanding feud quickly escalated into an armed fight.
As a result of gunfire from pistols, Sedat Çınar, M. Ç., and A. Y. were injured. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene following the report.
After initial treatment at the scene, the injured were taken to various hospitals in the city. Despite all medical efforts, Sedat Çınar succumbed to his injuries.
A. Y. is reported to be in critical condition. No further details have been shared regarding M. Ç.’s health status.
The armed fight was also recorded on a mobile phone camera. The footage shows bystanders capturing the incident as it unfolded.
The Diyarbakır Police Department’s Public Order Branch Office Homicide Bureau has launched an investigation into the incident.
During the ongoing investigation, N. D., identified as involved in the fight, was taken into custody. The suspect’s procedures at the police station are ongoing.
