Schools’ first midterm break starts November 16; students get nine days off
According to the Ministry of National Education’s 2026–2027 academic calendar, the first-term midterm break will run from November 16 to 20. Students will attend their final classes on Friday, November 13, and schools will reopen on Monday, November 23.
According to the Ministry of National Education’s (MEB) 2026–2027 academic calendar, the first-term midterm break at schools will begin on Monday, November 16, and end on Friday, November 20.
Students will attend their final classes before the break on Friday, November 13. The five-school-day break will extend to nine days with the weekends. Classes will resume on Monday, November 23.
The break applies to primary, middle and high school students. The academic calendar was sent to the provinces as a circular signed by Minister Yusuf Tekin.
The first term will end on Friday, January 22, 2027. The midyear break will take place from January 25 to February 5, 2027, and the second term will begin on Monday, February 8.
The second-term midterm break will take place from March 8 to 12, 2027, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr. The 2026–2027 academic year will end on Friday, June 25, 2027.
Classes in the new academic year began on September 14, 2026.
