The Ministry of National Education is introducing a new system through the Education Information Network (EBA) for common written examinations held across schools. The Common Written Examination System will manage the entire process—from exam planning and question preparation to assessment and analyses by student, class and section—in one place.
The system will be used from the first written examinations of the first term of the 2026–2027 academic year in Turkish, mathematics, science, social studies, and religious culture and ethics classes in grades 5, 6 and 7 of middle schools. In grades 9, 10 and 11 of high schools, it will cover Turkish language and literature, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, religious culture and ethics, and philosophy. For English, only grades 5 and 6 in middle schools and grades 9 and 10 in high schools will be included; English classes in grades 7 and 11 will not be part of the system.

Approximately 8,000 questions will be uploaded to the system before the first examinations, and around 8,000 new questions will be added during each examination period. Teachers will prepare two open-ended questions and the marking key themselves according to the selected scenario, while the other questions will be chosen from the pool. Questions in the pool will be made available to teachers four days before the examination.
Teachers will enter the points earned for each question into e-School. Students will therefore be able to see not only their total scores but also which learning outcomes they have mastered and which areas require further support. Teachers will be able to conduct trial applications in the system until October 26.
