A panel was held at the Directorate’s Conference Hall as part of the ‘United in a Shared Future’ communications campaign introduced that morning by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications. The panel was moderated by Kasım İleri, head of the Directorate’s Department of Strategic Communications and Crisis Management, and featured AK Party Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Group Abdulhamit Gül, National Intelligence Academy (MİA) President Prof. Dr. Talha Köse, Press Advertising Agency Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen Çetintaş, SETA General Coordinator Nebi Miş and Sabah newspaper’s Ankara Representative Okan Müderrisoğlu.
Gül: ‘Mothers and young people are the owners of this process’
Gül said a successful fight against terrorism had been waged under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, adding that efforts in previous periods had failed to produce results because of political instability and misguided paradigms. Gül said, ‘Where there is no political stability, crises are taking place and the paradigm is wrong, you cannot draw a straight line with a crooked ruler.’ Recalling that the National Solidarity, Fraternity and Democracy Commission had been established in Parliament with the participation of parties representing 95 percent of the national will, Gül said, ‘An important new page has been opened in a Türkiye where mothers will no longer weep, where those who have lost their children will not lose their grandchildren, and where our young people will look to the future with confidence. Mothers, young people and all of Türkiye are the owners of this process.’

Köse: ‘Many caves were evacuated in Sinjar, Gara and Metina’
National Intelligence Academy President Köse said all state institutions were supporting efforts to end terrorism, adding that Türkiye had developed a model of its own. Köse said, ‘The point where we were stuck was the terrorist organization’s dissolution and the disarmament process. The law was conditionally put into effect on this issue, and not only are there truly no organizational elements left inside Türkiye, but significant progress has also been made in Iraq. Many caves were evacuated in the Sinjar, Gara and Metina regions, and the process is actually advancing in a healthy manner.’
SETA General Coordinator Miş said support in society for the process, which is being carried out as a state policy, had increased both because of its method and the stage it had reached. Miş said society attached importance to the process being approved in Parliament through broad consensus and to institutions working in coordination, adding that this method should be maintained. Press Advertising Agency Board Chairman Çetintaş emphasized that the process’s infrastructure had been completed, while Sabah’s Ankara Representative Müderrisoğlu noted that information and disinformation were competing in the current period and said there were people who wanted the process to succeed as well as those who wanted to prevent it.
