The 5th AlBaraka Summit will be held in London on October 13-14 under the theme "Ethics in Action: Rebuilding the Foundations and Advancing the Global Impact of the Islamic Economy." The summit will bring global Islamic finance representatives together for two days.
The future of Islamic finance is on the summit’s agenda
The program will address policy and regulation, Islamic banking and capital markets, social finance, waqf and zakat, digitalization, and entrepreneurship. The role of global financial centers in the development of the Islamic economy will also be among the main topics of the meetings.
A session for Islamic banking executives will be held on the first day, focusing on developments in policy and regulation and the sector’s global direction. The sessions will address the development of regulatory frameworks, the role of ethics in public policy, and priorities for the sector’s future.
Ethical investment and financial inclusion to take center stage
The summit will focus on how Islamic banking, investment, and capital markets can strengthen ethical trust, support long-term development, and increase the international impact of funds. Financial inclusion will also be among the topics on the meeting agenda.

On the second day, the sector’s future, the role of global financial centers in the development of Islamic finance based on ethical foundations, and technology and digital transformation will come to the fore.
Khalawi: Putting principles into practice is the central issue
Yousef Hassan Khalawi, secretary-general of the AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economics, said that the Islamic economy is not limited to financial products. Khalawi said this approach connects economic activity with justice, accountability, and responsibility toward society.
Khalawi stated that the priority is not merely to discuss these principles but to put them into practice. He said London provides an important setting for this discussion by bringing Islamic finance representatives from around the world together.
