The World Winners Cup 2026, the world beach soccer club championship, will be held in Alanya, a district of Antalya, from October 26 to November 1.
Alanya District Governor Şakir Öner Öztürk, Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik and Antalya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Yavuz Gürhan attended the tournament's launch meeting.
Emphasis on sporting events in Alanya
Şakir Öner Öztürk said Alanya had significant experience in hosting national and international sporting events. Öztürk noted that the city had hosted major events in various disciplines, from triathlon and cycling to ice hockey, beach volleyball and beach soccer.
Öztürk said the number of these events increased every year and that the relevant parties needed to act through a shared culture of cooperation to strengthen the city's brand value internationally.
Osman Tarık Özçelik said they continued their efforts to diversify sports tourism. Özçelik said the tournament, which will feature 48 teams from 33 countries, supported Alanya's goal of becoming a brand, particularly in sports tourism.

Forty-eight teams will compete in the tournament
Yavuz Gürhan said they aimed to make the event, which will feature approximately 1,000 athletes, sustainable in Alanya for three years and reach a wider audience in subsequent years.
Adil Müftüoğlu, a former footballer and head coach of the beach soccer national team, described the tournament's organization in Alanya as the realization of a long-held dream. Müftüoğlu said clubs from Portugal and Spain were among the favorites, while the goal of Türkiye's representative was to reach the semifinals.
Ferit Yücel Ergün, the former captain of the national team, said the event would make a significant contribution to Alanya's international promotion and the development of sports tourism.

The event's official mascot is "Goal Alanya," inspired by the Alanya goat, one of the symbols of Yörük culture. The group matches will be played from October 26 to 28, the quarterfinals on October 30, the semifinals on October 31 and the final matches on November 1.
