Trabzonspor aim to extend winning run
Trabzonspor, who continued in the Conference League after losing 1-0 and 4-0 to Hungarian side Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa League play-off round, aim to start the league phase with a victory.
The Burgundy-Blues, who have been on an upward trajectory in the Super League under head coach Thomas Reis, defeated Galatasaray 4-0 at home and Samsunspor 3-0 away. Trabzonspor want to beat KuPS Kuopio and secure victories in three consecutive competitive matches.

European victory drought
Trabzonspor will play their first European match under Thomas Reis and will also seek to end their winless run in continental competitions.
The Burgundy-Blues last won in Europe on August 1, 2024, beating Slovakian side Ruzomberok 1-0 at home in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Trabzonspor have recorded four defeats and two draws in their six European matches since then.
Trabzonspor missing four players
Nweiwu and Cabral will be unavailable for Trabzonspor because of red-card suspensions. Okay Yokuşlu and young goalkeeper Onuralp Çevikkan will also miss out because of injuries.
Mendy and Bouchouari, who have been unable to play because of the foreign-player quota in the Super League, will be eligible for the squad in European competition matches.
Melih Kabasakal was added to the UEFA list in place of Malinovskyi, who is injured as well as suspended.
Match to be played in Tampere
KuPS Kuopio are playing their Conference League matches in Tampere, about 300 kilometers away, because their own stadium does not meet the conditions set by UEFA.

The 8,000-capacity Tammela Stadium, which will host the match, has an artificial turf pitch.
