Truck carrying bricks collides with cars in Türkiye’s Afyonkarahisar, killing one

A truck loaded with bricks collided with three cars at an overpass junction on the Afyonkarahisar-Izmir highway in western Türkiye, killing the truck driver and injuring seven people, three of them seriously.

One person was killed and seven were injured when a truck loaded with bricks collided with three cars in Afyonkarahisar, western Türkiye. The crash happened in the early hours at the Karahisar overpass junction on the Afyonkarahisar-Izmir highway.

After a car and the truck collided on the bridge, the car was left hanging on the barriers. The overturned truck’s detached cab hit the steel barriers, crossed into the opposite lane and struck two more cars. The truck’s load of bricks was scattered across the road.

The truck driver, identified as Abdullah Ç., could not be saved at the hospital. The seven injured, three of them seriously, were taken to Afyonkarahisar State Hospital and private hospitals in the area.

Traffic returned to normal after the vehicles were removed and the road was cleared.
