Turkish Aerospace (TUSAŞ) General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu unveiled the company’s production targets for 2035 at the Subcontractor and Supply Management Workshop in the Defense and Aviation Sector, organized in Bursa by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB). Demiroğlu spoke on Oct. 16 at a panel on the transformation of strategic supply chain management and the role of subcontractors in the shift from prototype to scalable serial production.
Targets for aircraft, helicopters and drones
According to the “TUSAŞ: Target 2035” chart presented at the panel, the company aims to produce more than 1,500 platforms by 2035. For fixed-wing aircraft, the targets include more than 150 KAAN national fighter jets, more than 200 HÜRJET jet trainers and more than 150 HÜRKUŞ trainers.
For rotary-wing platforms, the plan calls for more than 200 GÖKBEY utility helicopters, more than 150 T925 helicopters in the 10-ton class and more than 100 T129 ATAK attack helicopters. For unmanned aerial vehicles, the targets are more than 250 ANKA-3, more than 150 AKSUNGUR and more than 150 ANKA.

Beyond the platform targets, the 2035 goals also include more than 10,000 tactical drones, more than 20 satellites and more than 30 new products or configurations. The figures reflect the company’s production targets rather than firm orders for all platforms.
Focus on subcontractors and serial production
Demiroğlu highlighted the importance of a strong supply chain and subcontractors for the sustainable growth of the defense industry, saying that in addition to subcontractors’ capabilities, the production culture also needs to be developed. SSB President Haluk Görgün stressed the importance of developing critical subsystems and components and increasing domestic production capacity, saying the goal is to build a strong subcontractor ecosystem able to compete in global markets under its own brand.

Deliveries of KAAN to the Turkish Air Force in blocks are planned to begin between the end of 2028 and early 2029. Speaking in Kastamonu earlier this week, Demiroğlu said Spain, which signed a deal for 30 HÜRJET aircraft, plans to buy 15 more.
