Türkiye's National Intelligence Organization (MİT) published a detailed guide titled "Truths Believed to Be Wrong," addressing ten common misconceptions about its structure, work and recruitment.

MİT said it is not merely an operational body but an organization combining operational, analytical and technical capabilities, and that intelligence is a multidisciplinary field spanning collection, analysis, technology, cyber security, languages and research. It noted that its staff includes engineers, analysts, linguists and software developers, so not everyone is an agent.

The agency said applications are accepted only through its official careers system, without references, that not every applicant will be contacted and that it runs no internship program for university students because of the nature of its work.

It also warned that MİT never asks citizens for bank details, passwords or verification codes by phone, text message or online, urging people to be wary of such requests.
