Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş Vows to Build a Terror-Free Region Together
Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş emphasized the goal of a terror-free Turkey and region in a speech at the National Turkish Student Union's Politics School program. Kurtulmuş also made statements regarding the initiation of new constitution studies and Turkey's role in the pursuit of global justice.
Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş attended the Politics School Closing and Certificate Program organized by the National Turkish Student Union. The program, held in Fatih, was attended by Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, 27th Parliament Speaker İsmail Kahraman, NTSB President Tahsin Başarı, and guests. The program began with a Quran recitation by Hafız Muhammed Karagöz.
'HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION SHOULD BE ABOLISHED, IT IS REDUNDANT' 27th Parliament Speaker İsmail Kahraman, who attended the program, said, 'In events we see in religious countries, we see that evil is less. We should also keep our national heroes alive. High school education should be abolished, it is redundant; primary is 2,3,4,5, middle school. We repeat this as high school. 'TURKEY DID NOT GIVE UP ON ITS IDEAL' Continuing his speech, Kurtulmuş said, 'In this framework, this great cause has two basic legs, one inside and the other outside.
The internal leg is the situation belonging to Turkey, to the Anatolian continent on which Turkey rests, and to our entire heartland, in the master's terms. We summarized it with the ideal of a strong, great Turkey again and worked for it for years.
That is, Turkey will make it its ideal to be a country that is not a follower, not a satellite, not fake, but fully independent and followed in every field from education to culture, from art to technology, from the military field to the international arena. Because it was so, the conditions of the 1950s and 1960s were different, it developed accordingly. The conditions of the 70s and 80s were different, it changed accordingly.
But it never gave up on the great Turkey ideal, the ideal of a strong, great Turkey again. We never said let's follow the tail of such-and-such group, such-and-such countries. We never said let's adopt such-and-such idea, walk in their shadow. We only and only trusted this country's past, history, accumulation, and relied on this country's current possibilities,' he stated.
'BEING AT THE FOREFRONT IN MANY NEW FIELDS, ESPECIALLY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, BEING A COUNTRY THAT IS FOLLOWED, IS AN INDISPENSABLE ASPECT OF THE TURKEY IDEAL' Saying that Turkey has reached a new era regarding technological developments, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş said, 'Perhaps in a very concrete form, realizing the heavy industry move in Turkey, establishing factories in every city of Turkey, great struggles were given for this, from Revolution engine industries
to Turkey's public investments, successes were achieved in many areas. Now we are in a new era. In this period, being at the forefront in many new fields, especially high technologies, computer information technologies, transportation communication technologies, especially artificial intelligence, being a country that is followed, is an indispensable aspect of the ideal of a strong Turkey again.
Therefore, within the requirements of the age, within the perception of the century, we will update all our goals but we will never give up on our goal. This has been proposed many times to this country in its past political history. Don't produce this, why are you wasting time with this? Go and take what others produce from other countries and go further with them. We never sided with this idea.
We always struggled to be yourself, produce yourself, go forward yourself, and walk around your own great Turkey ideal,' he said.
'ONE OF OUR MOST FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES IS TO WORK WITH OUR GREAT POWER TO ENSURE EQUITY AND JUSTICE ON EARTH' 'One of the most important elements of our state tradition is the order of the world,' said Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş, stating the following: 'To make Turkey a strong country in every respect, a country that is followed in every field, in short, our ideal of being a strong Turkey again.
The second leg of this is our attitude towards the outside, the world, especially our immediate surroundings. Our goal here is to definitely struggle for the establishment of a new, just, equitable global system. Because dear youth, it is one of our important qualities as a nation. One of the most important elements of our state tradition is the order of the world.
That is, we are not a nation responsible only for fixing its own tribe. We are also the grandchildren of a nation that protects the rights of all oppressed and aggrieved people on earth, and struggles for the establishment of equity and justice everywhere on earth, the globe. Today, one of our most fundamental duties is to work with our great power to ensure equity and justice on earth.
For this, foreign policies, almost everywhere in the world, as of the point we have reached today, Turkey has become a country whose word is respected and what it says is wondered about. We will become even stronger. We will strive to solve problems everywhere in the world. From ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, to ending the crimes against humanity in Gaza, Turkey has a say everywhere.
We will produce ideas, present efforts, realize our politics for the liberation of oppressed nations in the African continent, in Asia, at the farthest point of the world, and for them to live in a just and equitable world.' Speaker Kurtulmuş said, 'We always hear those who say, What business does Turkey have in Somalia? What business does Turkey have in Yemen? What business does Turkey have in the Balkans? Because this is the fundamental issue between us.
Due to the state discipline we received and the national ideal of our nation we received, I repeat, we are responsible not only for ourselves but for people everywhere in the world. For this, let me ask this question. Because it is so, Turkey's leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gets up and explains our idea to the whole world at the United Nations, saying the world is bigger than five. He expresses it from every platform,' he said.
'I SEE THE WORK OF OUR NATIONAL SOLIDARITY BROTHERHOOD AND DEMOCRACY COMMISSION AS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR TURKISH DEMOCRACY' Continuing his speech, Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş said, 'We will continue on our path, God willing, to test a period where no one can deceive the children of this country through ethnic differences and put a gun in their hand.
In this framework, as brother İsmail expressed earlier, I see the work of our National Solidarity Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, which we carried out in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, in the summer months of last year and then reported, as extremely important for Turkish democracy.
In all my international contacts, I also see that our opposition counterparts follow Turkey with appreciation due to this commission work. God willing, the fact that all deputies from all parties participating in the commission work have prepared a report in alliance in a very short time is also a first for Turkish democracy. It is a first in our multi-party political life,' he said.

KURTULMUŞ EMPHASIZES NEW CONSTITUTION STUDIES Saying that new constitution studies should be started, Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş said, 'I hope that the Turkish Grand National Assembly will start new constitution studies in the shortest time hereafter. Thus, we will leave behind the issue of constitutions that started as early as 1876 and occurred after coups.
In our republican history, the 1961 constitution after the 1960 coup, the 1982 constitution after the 1980 coup, having left all these coups behind, having left behind constitutions that are the product of coup-minded ideas, I believe we have the strength and power to make a free, contemporary, participatory, and truly democratic constitution,' he said.
After the speeches, certificates were presented to those who completed the politics school by Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and 27th Parliament Speaker İsmail Kahraman.
