The Turkish Sungur missile successfully destroyed a moving aerial target in its first firing conducted with the Burç mobile air defense system.
Roketsan announced in a post on the X platform on Monday that the Sungur missile accurately hit the moving aerial target during the test.
Burç system offers a next-generation air defense solution
The Burç mobile air defense system combines 20- or 30-millimeter guns and active-passive sensors with Sungur missiles on a single platform. This integrated structure is intended for use against existing and future aerial threats.
The mobile system is intended to provide a more effective and cost-efficient air defense solution on battlefields.
Features of the Sungur missile
Sungur, which can be carried and operated from the shoulder, was designed to provide short-range air defense for mobile and stationary units and facilities. The missile has a range of more than 8 kilometers.
The Sungur system was also developed to be integrated into different platforms.
