Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz told parliament that if a draft law with extraordinary liquidation rules is passed, principal payments of up to 1 million liras could be made to fund investors in October, with final liquidation expected within five to six months. He said 131 funds of seven portfolio management firms with 455,758 investors are being liquidated, that no Treasury funds will be used and that there is no systemic risk in the markets. Eighty-five people have been arrested in the investigation.
