The Free Trade Agreement between Türkiye and Ukraine entered into force on 1 October 2026. The agreement provides a comprehensive framework aimed at increasing trade volume between the two countries to $10 billion in the short term.
Customs duty provisions concerning trade in goods will take effect on 1 January 2027. The provisions aim to ensure that trade between the two countries continues under more predictable rules within the existing framework.

The agreement’s scope has been expanded
Prepared with consideration for the parties’ sensitive sectors, the agreement includes provisions on services, investment, e-commerce, trade facilitation and customs cooperation, in addition to trade in goods.

The provisions allowing bilateral and transit shipments to be carried out without quotas are expected to support commercial flows. Entering into force as Ukraine’s economic integration with the European Union advances, the agreement establishes a framework for maintaining preferential trading opportunities for Turkish and Ukrainian businesses.
The provisions are expected to give Turkish and Ukrainian businesses a competitive advantage over suppliers from third countries.
