A protester shouting "release the Epstein files" cut into US Vice President JD Vance's speech at a Republican midterm rally in North Carolina.
Vance, who had claimed at the rally that illegal border crossings had dropped to zero, told the crowd he would have to correct himself: "I said that we have had zero illegal border crossings... But one isn't bad, right?" The line was taken as a joke implying the protester had entered the country illegally.
Demands for the release of documents from the Epstein investigation are high on the political agenda ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
