Abdul Salam "Tioruju Mondusi" Taofeek, a well-known figure in Yoruba cinema, revealed that during a court process he learned that two of the five children he raised were not biologically his. The actor described this as one of the most painful experiences of his life.
Taofeek made these statements in an interview broadcast on the African A-List podcast. He explained that the central figure in the case was his unnamed ex-wife, who later admitted in court that she became pregnant by another man.
How did the court process begin?
According to Taofeek, the process started when he received a court summons informing him that his wife had filed for divorce. At that point, he did not object to the divorce but learned the truth about the children that day.
He recounted that the court revealed only three of the five children were biologically his. His ex-wife admitted that two of the children were fathered by another man named Kehinde.
The actor said he initially asked which children were his, and his ex-wife explained the paternity of each child one by one. According to her, the first two children were his, the third belonged to another man, the fourth was his, and the fifth was Kehinde's.
He said he did not return home, and the dispute escalated
Taofeek said his suspicions began when his wife disappeared for days. He returned home from work to find her gone and was unable to reach her by phone.
The actor added that his wife later asked him not to inquire about her whereabouts, revealing she was pregnant and carrying a fifth child after the fourth. The birth happened without notification, which further increased tensions between them.
According to Taofeek, during an argument, his ex-wife said the father of the baby she was carrying was not him. He became angry, informed his mother-in-law, and tensions escalated further when he saw a photo of his wife with another man at home.
Kehinde was also summoned for questioning
The actor said he took both his ex-wife and Kehinde to the police, where statements were taken. The woman detailed in the police interrogation which children belonged to whom.
Taofeek also mentioned that all previous pregnancies had occurred in their home, but despite this, it was accepted that the last baby was Kehinde's. After the incident, Kehinde asked him to drop the matter, but Taofeek refused to accept the newborn child.
The actor explained that the court ordered DNA testing and stated that if the tests could not be provided, the children would be legally considered his. Eventually, he parted ways with his ex-wife and the five children. The children currently live with him, although two of them come and go.
A confession years later and personal loss
Taofeek said his ex-wife passed away last year, which made recalling the events even more emotionally difficult. He noted that she never married Kehinde because that man was also married with four children.
The actor emphasized how deeply the experience affected him. He described his story as a long family crisis, a court battle, and a painful confrontation regarding the children he believed to be his.
Taofeek is also known for his work in cinema. He has appeared in productions such as "Ode Aperin," "Digboluja," "Anjonu Metta," "Ikoko Alagbara," "Olori Eje," and "Sukute."
