Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces carried out attacks on facilities belonging to Russia’s oil sector and military targets in the Black Sea.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s long-range strikes aim to reduce Russia’s oil revenues. Claiming that these revenues are used to finance the war, Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s Defense Forces had carried out operations against targets more than 1,300 kilometers from the front line.
Russian oil facilities targeted
According to Zelenskyy’s statement, the Bashneft-Novoil oil refinery in Bashkortostan and the Slavneft-Yanos oil refinery in the Yaroslavl region were struck.
Attacks in the Black Sea
Zelenskyy also said that attacks by Russia in the Black Sea had been met with a response. He announced that two military patrol boats and vessels belonging to the shadow fleet had been targeted.
