Just over 13 million tourists visited Antalya in the first nine months of 2026. This represented a 5% decline from the same period last year.
The number of tourists arriving in the city also fell 3% year on year in September, dropping to 2.254 million.
High prices weigh on demand
Ayşenur Öztekin, a travel agency representative from Ankara, said high prices and rising costs were among the reasons for the decline in tourist arrivals to Antalya.

Öztekin said price increases in accommodation, food and beverages, and other tourism services, along with changes in exchange rates, were also affecting tourist flows. She said holidaymakers were paying greater attention to price comparisons and noted that the higher cost of vacations in Türkiye than in alternative destinations was directly affecting demand.

Türkiye is increasingly perceived in European countries as an expensive tourism destination. Despite this, interest in Türkiye remains strong in some major foreign markets, including Russia.
Russian visitors account for about 25%
Russian visitors made up the largest share of foreign tourists arriving in Antalya during the first nine months. Russian tourists accounted for about 25% of the total, while the number of visitors from that market remained close to last year's level.
