Haluk Görgün, president of the Presidency of Defense Industries, visited the facilities of MMM Mutlu Medikal Mühendislik Ltd. Şti., Er-Bakır Elektrolitik Bakır Mamulleri AŞ and Aysan Raf Sistemleri AŞ as part of a program he attended in Denizli. Görgün received information about the companies’ production capabilities and the contributions they could make to the defense industry.
Denizli’s production capacity assessed
Görgün said the visits were carried out as part of the Presidency of Defense Industries’ efforts to promote industrialization and expand the defense industry across Anatolia. The meetings addressed the development of Türkiye’s defense industry, areas of need and the contributions Denizli’s production capacity could make to the sector.
Business meetings were held between the companies after the meetings. Görgün said they had come to Denizli with teams managing the supply chains of major companies such as ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN and TUSAŞ, and that the day continued with B2B meetings.
The supplier network in the SİPER and KAAN projects
Görgün said defense industry products were increasingly developing into more complex systems. He noted that, beyond the manufacturers of the platforms, many companies contribute to their supply chains.
Görgün said that around 1,000 companies work with ROKETSAN and ASELSAN on the SİPER project, while around 750 companies support TUSAŞ on the KAAN platform. He noted that each of these companies undertakes different responsibilities within the supply chain.
New suppliers targeted for inclusion in the ecosystem
Görgün said the ongoing efforts aimed to bring new suppliers into the defense industry ecosystem, adding that expanding and localizing products and platforms and developing new suppliers through technology acquisitions were priorities.
Görgün said a strong supplier network would increase production speed and support competition. He also said they had assessed that Denizli was home to many companies capable of contributing to main contractors as subcontractors.
Work continued throughout the day on the contributions Denizli’s companies could offer to main contractors. Görgün said the results of these efforts would become clear later.
