Türkiye's Bayraktar Akıncı strike unmanned aerial vehicle hit designated targets with precision during munition-firing tests conducted using the indigenous LGK-82 and GÖZDE guidance systems.
The tests were carried out through cooperation among Baykar, ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK's Defense Industries Research and Development Institute. The trials assessed Akıncı's compatibility with indigenous equipment and munitions.
Firing tests conducted with two different munitions
In the first stage of the tests, Bayraktar Akıncı launched a munition carrying the LGK-82 laser-guidance system. The munition struck the designated armored military vehicle and destroyed it.
In the second stage, a munition carrying the GÖZDE guidance system was used. The munition released from Akıncı struck the moving target directly with high precision.
ASELSAN General Manager Akyol assesses the test
Following the test, ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol said in his assessment that the moving target had been hit precisely.
Akyol said that indigenous platforms had become more powerful and effective thanks to precision-guidance capabilities that only a small number of countries can develop.
Akıncı's induction into the inventory
Bayraktar Akıncı is undergoing intensive flight tests to ensure its integration with indigenous equipment and munitions developed as part of Türkiye's defense industry.
The unmanned aerial vehicle has been carrying out operational missions since it entered the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces on August 29, 2021.
