Deputy Foreign Minister and EU Affairs President Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, together with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Ankara Jiang Xuebin, received in Ankara the Chinese Foreign Ministry's Special Representative for BBNJ (Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction) Secretariat Affairs Yi Xiangliang.

During the meeting, international cooperation for the protection of the seas, developments under the BBNJ Agreement, and contacts between Turkey and China in this field were discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of global efforts to protect marine biological diversity.
