The Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) within the Presidency's Directorate of Communications stated that claims Greece blocked Turkey's various missile and defense ammunition procurement processes through diplomatic initiatives and covert steps are false.
In a statement from DMM's social media account, it was noted that these claims, circulated by some media outlets and social media platforms, are completely baseless.
Thanks to the domestic and national production approach adopted in the defense industry, the Republic of Turkey meets a significant portion of its critical ammunition, missile, and defense system needs with its own resources. Procurement and cooperation processes carried out in international markets also proceed smoothly and without interruption in accordance with interstate legal agreements and strategic planning. Such reports that periodically appear in the press or third-party sources are speculative disinformation activities aimed at manipulating public opinion and creating a false perception. It is respectfully requested that only statements made by the relevant official authorities be taken into consideration.
The statement emphasized that international procurement and cooperation processes are conducted in accordance with interstate legal agreements and strategic planning, and called on the public to rely only on statements from official authorities.
