Economic confidence index fell 3.9% to 97.3 in October
According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the economic confidence index fell 3.9% month on month to 97.3 in October. Confidence declined among consumers, the real sector and services, while retail trade and construction recorded limited increases.
The economic confidence index fell 3.9% month on month to 97.3 in October. The index stood at 101.3 in September.
The consumer confidence index fell 7.7% to 84.8 in October. The real sector confidence index decreased 1.4% to 101.1, while the services sector confidence index fell 2.4% to 109.2.
Changes in sector confidence indexes
The retail trade confidence index rose 1.1% to 112.5 in October. The construction confidence index also increased 0.4% to 83.3.
October data for the past five years
The economic confidence index in October stood at 98 in 2022, 96.8 in 2023, 98.1 in 2024, 98 in 2025 and 97.3 in 2026.
Throughout 2026, the index stood at 99.4 in January, 100.7 in February, 97.9 in March, 96.4 in April, 97.2 in May, 98.9 in June, 99.8 in July, 100.6 in August and 101.3 in September.
According to monthly data from previous years, the index ranged between 102.6 and 98.6 from January to December 2022, between 99.9 and 96.5 in 2023, between 100.4 and 95 in 2024, and between 99.7 and 96.1 in 2025.
