Eight more başpehlivans announced for Kırkpınar
After the Sekapark Golden Belt stage of the CW Enerji Oil Wrestling League, eight more başpehlivans have been determined for Kırkpınar. The 665th event will be held in Edirne on July 3-5.
Following the 4th round of the CW Enerji Oil Wrestling League’s Sekapark Golden Belt Oil Wrestling, the additional 8 başpehlivans qualifying for Kırkpınar have been finalized.
According to the Turkish Traditional Wrestling Federation, Onur Susuz with 23 points, Süleyman Başar with 17 points, Tanju Gemici with 14 points, Serhat Elvan with 13 points and Hasan Güzeller with 13 points earned the right to participate in the event.
Ünal Karaman, Ali Yanatma and Tolga Turan, each with 8 points, also secured their places in the 665th Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling.
A total of 40 başpehlivans will grapple at the Sarayiçi Arena in Edirne during the wrestling event scheduled for July 3-5.
Başpehlivans who finished in the top 32 of the Oil Wrestling League last year earn direct qualification for Kırkpınar.
In last year’s başpehlivan final, Orhan Okulu defeated Feyzullah Aktürk to become champion.
