The Advanced Materials and Systems Competition, coordinated by ERDEMİR, one of OYAK’s companies, was introduced as part of the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST Southeast. The introduction took place at the Journey of Materials experience area at the festival grounds at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport.
The competition, announced while the TEKNOFEST Southeast program organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation and the Turkish Aerospace Industries Engineering and Trade Inc. continued, will be open to participants at university level and above.
Applications will begin in November
Yalçıntaş said they had launched a new competition as part of TEKNOFEST, where young people and students engage with technology. Noting that materials form the basis of technology, Yalçıntaş said that developing the desired technologies becomes more difficult without suitable materials.
A set of rules will be prepared for the competition, and participants will work to develop the material specified in those rules. Applications are planned to open in November.

Contestants will receive R&D support
ERDEMİR will open its R&D facilities to contestants and meet their material needs. A cash prize will be awarded at the end of the competition.
The ERDEMİR Group will work with the young people who develop the projects to turn the materials into industrial products, create economic value and produce them on an industrial scale. Yalçıntaş invited young people who are confident in the field of materials to take part in the competition.
