Family and Social Services Ministry orders shelter for homeless people this winter
The Ministry of Family and Social Services has issued a circular calling for homeless and destitute people to be identified in provinces and districts, and for their shelter and basic needs to be provided so that no one remains on the streets during the winter months.
A circular signed by Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and sent to provincial governors calls for homeless people and those without anyone to support them in provinces and districts to be identified so that no one remains on the streets during the winter months.
Shelter in guesthouses and hotels
According to the ministry, the identified individuals' shelter needs will be met through public guesthouses and hotels. They will also receive hygiene, healthcare, basic food and clothing assistance.
The circular also instructs authorities to provide psychosocial support to citizens when necessary.
