Father saves son from sea in Trabzon but loses his own life
Father Fatih Kurutçu, who jumped into the water to save his son from drowning in the sea in Trabzon's Arsin district, died in the hospital after being rescued with the help of police.
In a tragic incident in Trabzon's Arsin district, a father lost his life in a struggle to save his son. Father Fatih Kurutçu jumped into the water without hesitation yesterday at noon to save his 14-year-old son, Yusuf Eren Kurutçu, who was in danger of drowning in the sea.
While trying to reach his son, Father Kurutçu was caught in a strong current and found himself in difficulty. Traffic police passing by the scene noticed the situation, immediately entered the sea, and pulled the father and son from the water.
After initial intervention by health teams, the father and son were taken to the hospital and revived as a result of doctors' intensive efforts. However, it was learned late at night that Fatih Kurutçu could not be saved despite all interventions and passed away.
It was reported that his son Yusuf Eren Kurutçu, whose treatment continues in the intensive care unit, remains in critical condition. The incident caused great sorrow in the district, and the family of the self-sacrificing father was plunged into mourning.
