In the 10th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe lost 2-1 to visiting Göztepe at Kadıköy. The Yellow-Navy Blues led 1-0 at halftime but conceded twice within two minutes in the second half and left the pitch without a point.
Guendouzi’s goal was not enough
Fenerbahçe took the lead in stoppage time at the end of the first half. Lukaku received the ball from Levent Mercan and found Guendouzi on the edge of the penalty area; the French midfielder’s low shot found the net. Guendouzi scored his second goal of the season.

The Yellow-Navy Blues failed to capitalize on their chances to extend the lead in the second half. Lukaku missed the ball from close range in the 64th minute, while Kerem Aktürkoğlu’s shot struck the post in the 71st minute.
Göztepe turned the game around in two minutes
In the 76th minute, the ball Guendouzi tried to clear fell to Armstrong. After beating Skriniar and entering the penalty area, Armstrong made it 1-1. Two minutes later, Henrique rose at the near post from Anjorin’s corner and headed Göztepe into a 2-1 lead.

With this result, Fenerbahçe remain on 16 points after 10 matches and fall nine points behind leaders Galatasaray. Despite taking the lead, the Yellow-Navy Blues have lost 2-1 against Gençlerbirliği, Beşiktaş and Göztepe this season; they have also conceded two goals in each of their last three official matches.
Fans chant for the board to resign
After Göztepe’s second goal, Fenerbahçe fans chanted against the club’s board. Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who had a tense relationship with the supporters throughout the match, was booed as he was substituted in the 83rd minute.
