Andreas Lemke, who set out on foot from Berlin, the capital of Germany, to perform the Hajj, reached Babaeski district in Kırklareli on the 88th day of his journey.
Lemke, who took the name Umar after becoming Muslim, performed the noon prayer at the historic Cedit Ali Pasha Mosque in Babaeski. Umar took a meal break and rested for a while there.
Umar said he aims to reach Mecca on foot, estimates that his journey will continue for approximately another five to six months and hopes to perform the Hajj at the end of that period.

Umar said he had chosen to travel to the Hajj on foot and continued on his way after the break.
Cedit Ali Pasha Mosque, where Umar took a break, is among the works built by Mimar Sinan in the 16th century.
