Istanbul prosecutor orders detention of 18 suspects in drug investigation

As part of an investigation into combating drugs that threaten public health and safety, the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the detention, searches and biological examinations of 18 suspects.

The chief prosecutor’s office said evidence had been found supporting the reasonable suspicion that the suspects, known to the public as actors, singers, businesspeople, business operators and social media influencers, had used drugs or stimulants, facilitated drug use or provided a place for it.

The order was sent to the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, and the suspects were requested to be brought before the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office after their statements were taken.
