According to its latest forecasts, the Turkish State Meteorological Service warned of thunderstorms and wind for certain parts of the country, especially the northeast of Ardahan, Kars and Erzurum. Temperatures are expected to remain at normal levels across much of the country.
Meteorology Expert Adil Tek told SABAH: "Temperatures in the Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean regions will be 4-5 degrees above seasonal norms, especially on Monday and Tuesday. From Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will rise in inland areas. In Ankara, temperatures are expected to be 3-4 degrees above seasonal norms."
Tek noted that rainy and windy weather will continue in the Black Sea and northeastern Eastern Anatolia, and stated that after Wednesday, temperatures across the country will return to seasonal norms with cool air coming from the north.
Referring to long-term forecasts, Adil Tek said: "Temperatures will be above average in September and October. Autumn will arrive late," indicating that summer will be long this year.
