Minister Bolat assessed the conference titled "Our Foreign Trade Policy in the Century of Türkiye," organized by the Eurasian Strategic Research Platform in Istanbul. He said the meeting addressed Türkiye's achievements in foreign trade, opportunities emerging in global trade and its future goals.
Bolat said Türkiye's goods exports had risen from $36.1 billion in 2002 to $273.4 billion in 2025. He said goods exports reached $211 billion in the first nine months of 2026, up 5.2% from the same period last year.
Bolat said annualized goods exports had reached $283.7 billion as of September 2026, hitting a record level in the history of the Republic. He added that services exports had risen from $14 billion in 2002 to $124.9 billion last year.
Share of high-tech products rises
Bolat said the share of medium-high- and high-tech products in manufacturing industry exports had increased from 30.4% to 43.5%. He announced that exporters had received $49.6 billion in support through Türk Eximbank as of September 2026.
Bolat said they had strengthened exporters' access to finance, encouraged value-added and technology-intensive production, expanded free trade agreements and sought to improve access to new markets through trade diplomacy.
Announcing the 2029 target, Bolat said, "We want to bring our goods and services exports to $450 billion." He said they would continue strengthening production capacity, the entrepreneurial business community and their strategic vision at a time of rising protectionism and uncertainty in the global economy.
