Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır said the aviation, space and technology festival TEKNOFEST, held in Şanlıurfa, is one of the key elements in creating an independent roadmap for advanced technologies as part of Türkiye’s National Technology Initiative.
Events at the festival site at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport are being organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. During his engagements at the festival site, Kacır said TEKNOFEST has a special place in Türkiye’s work in the field of advanced technology.
Developing domestic systems is the goal
Kacır said Türkiye has organized the world’s largest technology festivals since 2018. He noted that TEKNOFEST reflects Türkiye’s distinctive journey במסגרת the National Technology Initiative.

In this context, the aim is to establish an independent roadmap in advanced technology, develop and produce critical systems using domestic capabilities, and present these systems to the world competitively.

Emphasis on young people in Şanlıurfa
Kacır said the city’s young population was a factor in choosing Şanlıurfa to host the festival. He said the average age in the city is 21 and that it has more than 700,000 students, who make up approximately one-third of the city’s population.
Kacır said they saw the light of the future in the eyes of children visiting the festival from villages. He said he hoped TEKNOFEST would inspire children and help them develop major projects that would contribute to Türkiye’s future.
