A new decision published in today's Official Gazette grants the Central Securities Depository (MKK) official authority to operate the crypto asset central registry system.
Under the 'Decision on Other Activities That MKK May Conduct in Addition to Its Securities Settlement System Operating Activities,' the Crypto Asset Central Registry System (KVMKS) has been included in MKK's existing scope of authorization.
The decision was made pursuant to Law No. 6493 on Payment and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services and Electronic Money Institutions, and the related regulatory provisions.
As a result, MKK will be able to offer central registry services for crypto assets within an official framework.
