After the Adapazarı-Gebze line, the National Electric Train sets have begun operating on a different route for the first time. The train, departing from Istanbul's Halkalı, started carrying passengers on the route to Edirne's Uzunköprü district.
The train sets, with a capacity of 324 passengers, feature 322 seats and 2 wheelchair spaces. Capable of reaching an operating speed of 160 kilometers per hour, the trains offer passengers a more modern, safe, and comfortable travel experience.
The train departing from Halkalı reached Uzunköprü after passing through the stations of Ispartakule, Çatalca, Kabakça, Kurfallı, Sinekli, Çerkezköy, Velimeşe, Çorlu, Muratlı, Kayabeyli, Lüleburgaz, Alpullu, and Pehlivanköy.
Mecit Yeni, one of the passengers alighting at Uzunköprü station, said the journey was comfortable and peaceful, adding, "The heating and cooling balance inside was good. It has been a very successful train. We thank those who contributed."
Melek Meşe, who traveled with her family from Çerkezköy to Uzunköprü, said the journey was much more comfortable compared to the old trains. "It was very good, I was very pleased," she said.
