Kütahya Design Technopark has become an innovation hub attracting technology firms from all over Turkey with its 11-partner board. Efforts coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Technology prioritize domestic and national technologies and software projects.
Rapid increase in firms and employment
Technopark General Manager Associate Professor Durmuş Özdemir stated that the number of firms, which was 37 in 2023, reached 145 as of July 2026. In the same period, the number of employees rose from 290 to 750. Özdemir emphasized that qualified employment increased with government incentives.
Intense interest from across Turkey
Özdemir said that the technopark is not limited to Kütahya, with entrepreneurs from many provinces—from Erzincan to Sinop, Çanakkale to Istanbul, and Ankara to Mersin and Konya—operating there: "In this interest, the strong communication and dialogue environment we established with our team was decisive."

"Technopark offers not just tax advantages, but a complete ecosystem"
Özdemir, stating that technoparks should not be seen merely as cost-advantage areas, continued: "A technopark offers an ecosystem. Firms have direct access to Ministry experts, entrepreneurs, and qualified personnel. Projects can be carried out with academics within the scope of university-industry cooperation. Our goal is to pioneer the production of value-added products that will close our country's current account deficit."
SMEs brought together with large industry
Özdemir stated that by creating synergy among their firms, they matched small and medium-sized enterprises with the problems of large-scale industrial companies. He added that they formed cluster structures in specialized fields such as game development and biomedical, and that peer-reviewed projects provide marketing and corporate assurance to firms.
Firms from many sectors such as agriculture, ceramics, health, retail, energy, aviation, electronics, finance, and fintech operate within the technopark.
