As part of the TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland event, which brings STM’s National Technology Initiative vision to the maritime domain, national platforms in the inventory of the Turkish Naval Forces will be open to visitors in Gölcük.
Throughout the event, TCG Istanbul, Türkiye’s first national frigate for which STM is the main contractor, will be present at the venue. TCG Burgazada, an MİLGEM Ada-class corvette in which the company has undertaken critical roles in design, construction and systems integration, will also be on display.
Alongside the surface platforms, the TCG Hizirreis and TCG Sakarya submarines will also be open to public visits.
Maritime projects to be displayed at the STM stand
Türkiye’s national warship and submarine projects will be introduced at the STM stand to be set up at the festival grounds. Visitors will have the opportunity to examine maritime solutions developed by Turkish engineers up close.
Models of the İstif-class frigate, STM500—the first national submarine design developed in Türkiye for special operations and attack missions—and the Logistics Support Ship built by STM for Türkiye, Portugal and Pakistan will be displayed at the stand.
Participants will also be able to communicate directly with STM engineers and learn about Türkiye’s engineering capabilities in the field of military shipbuilding.
Güleryüz: Young people will draw inspiration from success stories
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz said TEKNOFEST is a national meeting point that brings young people’s dreams together with technology and shapes Türkiye’s future.
Güleryüz said they were pleased to bring the engineering expertise demonstrated in the Blue Homeland and the national platforms developed to young people.
"Today, warships and submarines developed by Turkish engineers not only reinforce the strength of our navy, but also serve in the navies of friendly and allied countries, representing our country’s engineering capabilities internationally."
Güleryüz said he believed young people would draw inspiration from these success stories and develop the technologies of the future. He invited citizens to TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland and the STM stand to explore Türkiye’s maritime vision up close.
