TEKNOFEST, the Southeastern Anatolia Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, is continuing its second day of events in Şanlıurfa with various competitions, air shows and science workshops.
The Southeast edition of Türkiye's aviation, space and technology festival TEKNOFEST drew a flood of visitors on its second day, with the festival grounds at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport packed with students, families and technology enthusiasts.
Held at GAP Airport, the festival is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation and Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc. Anadolu Agency is also covering the events as the festival’s global media partner.

Domestic vehicles and air shows
The festival brings together technology enthusiasts, young inventors and thousands of visitors through activities for different age groups. Visitors can experience advanced technology simulations and tour science workshops and exhibitions.

The Turkish Stars team is scheduled to present its second air show as part of the festival. ATAK helicopters, HÜRKUŞ aircraft, ANKA, Bayraktar TB2, Bayraktar TB3 and Bayraktar Akıncı unmanned aerial vehicles, along with land and sea vehicles, are also on display at the event site.

Special flight experience for students
The festival program also includes stage performances, educational workshops, simulation experiences, a planetarium, science demonstrations and the “TEKNOFEST Time Tunnel.” Students are also being offered their first flight experiences at the site, where domestic sea, land and air vehicles are on display.

The second day of the events will end with a concert by singer Semicenk. The festival will continue to welcome visitors through October 4.
Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar said the festival began with the excitement of 1.6 million young people and the participation of 99 countries. "History began here, at Göbeklitepe, at point zero," he said, adding that the will to live on these lands 12,000 years ago had turned into a technology drive spanning artificial intelligence, agricultural technology and autonomous systems.
HÜRKUŞ, ANKA, Bayraktar TB2, TB3 and AKINCI drones and the ATAK helicopter are on display, while mock-ups of the KAAN fighter and the ANKA III unmanned combat aircraft are being shown in the region for the first time. T3 Foundation Board Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar toured the stands and met young competitors.
Organised by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation and Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., the festival opened on September 30 and runs until October 4. Entry is free with prior registration, and free public transport to the venue is available.
