An autonomous milking robot developed by Turkish engineers was introduced to visitors at the TEKNOFEST Southeastern Anatolia event in Şanlıurfa. Named Anadolu Dostu, the robot can milk cattle without the need for human intervention.
The robot can milk up to 75 animals a day using a fully automated system. It operates on the principle of voluntary milking, in which animals come to the milking unit according to their own needs and behavior.
Monitors animal data in real time
Nurellah Çalka, an official from Dost Technology, said the robot was designed to advance the agriculture and livestock sectors and increase young people’s interest in these fields.
Çalka said the system can monitor data in real time, including the animals’ health indicators, feed consumption and the amount of milk obtained from each teat. He said the data contributes to preventive veterinary care practices.

Being tested at five locations
The Anadolu Dostu milking robot is currently being tested at five different locations and is planned to enter service in Türkiye next January.

The festival at Şanlıurfa’s GAP Airport is being organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation and Turkish Aerospace Technologies Industry and Trade Inc. TEKNOFEST Southeastern Anatolia will welcome visitors through October 4.
