Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Thursday that Ukrainian special forces carried out an attack on the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) headquarters in the occupied Kherson region. According to information shared via Telegram, the attack took place in the village of Henicheska Hirka, with reports of about 100 Russian soldiers killed or wounded. Additionally, a Pantsir-S1 air defense system was destroyed during the operation. This area has been under Russian control since the early months of Moscow's large-scale invasion. The attack, carried out by the "A" units of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) Special Operations Center, is considered a significant blow to Russian military infrastructure. Zelensky stated that Russia has lost approximately 145,000 soldiers by 2026 and that Ukraine will continue its long-range drone attacks. The Pantsir-S1 system is known as an air defense system used by Russia to protect military and strategic facilities. Zelensky emphasized that the Russians need to end this war and expressed that Ukraine's medium and long-range sanctions will continue.
