The presidential decree titled 'Decision on the Withholding Rates Stipulated in the Provisional Article 67 of the Income Tax Law No. 193' was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.
CURRENT WITHHOLDING RATES TO BE PROTECTED UNTIL YEAR-END With the decision, the duration of the current withholding tax rates applied to income from government bonds, treasury bills, and lease certificates issued by public asset leasing companies has been extended. The application, which was previously set to expire on June 30, 2026, will now continue until December 31, 2026, in line with the regulation.
SUPPORT FOR TRY-DENOMINATED INVESTMENTS TO CONTINUE Thanks to the regulation, the current withholding tax advantage enjoyed by investors investing in Turkish lira-denominated public debt instruments will be preserved until the end of the year. Thus, no changes have been made to the tax withholding rates applied to income from government bonds, treasury bills, and lease certificates.
