According to a statement by Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Yemenis Affairs, Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zuba, is visiting Türkiye on October 24.
Al-Zuba was appointed foreign minister in a limited cabinet reshuffle carried out by Rashad al-Alimi, chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, in July. She became the first woman to hold the post in the country’s modern history. She previously served as minister of planning and international cooperation.

Focus on the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb
In remarks after taking office, Al-Zuba emphasized that Yemen’s security is central to regional security because of the country’s position along the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. She said they opposed the use of Yemeni territory to threaten neighboring countries or maritime trade. The minister most recently held talks in Jordan.
Türkiye has repeatedly stated that it supports a lasting political solution in Yemen based on constitutional legitimacy.
