Yongatek Microelectronics is developing a chip for use in artificial intelligence applications. The results of the project are planned to be presented at the next TEKNOFEST.
The company's General Manager Ali Baran spoke at a panel titled "Why are the things that change the world getting smaller?" held as part of TEKNOFEST Southeast. Baran said artificial intelligence would have a profound impact on people's lives, but access to advanced artificial intelligence chips could remain limited for some countries.
Baran said approximately 52% of the chip being developed would consist of memory. He said this proportion was planned because of the high volume of data to be processed, adding that the chip was expected to be used particularly in the defense sector and in unmanned aerial vehicles.

Pointing to the importance of technological independence, Baran said Türkiye had strong companies capable of developing technology and taking it to global markets.

TEKNOFEST, described as the world's largest aviation, space and technology festival, has opened to visitors for the 15th time. Demonstrations, exhibitions and the finals of technology competitions in 14 categories are being held at TEKNOFEST Southeast, organized at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport.
The festival is planned to continue until October 4.
